Seated Indian Head Massage

A seated Indian Head Massage lasts about 40 minutes and involves massage to the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face with the client sitting in a comfortable upright chair throughout. A variety of massage movements are used starting at the shoulder and neck area, working into all the pressure points of the scalp, then finishing with acupressure points on the face.

It is a safe, simple, non-intrusive yet very effective therapy and can be carried out through clothes if that is preferred, with or without oil.

Research indicates that, amongst other things, an Indian Head Massage can:

  • assist relaxation and reduce stress
  • improve circulation to the legs and feet
  • stimulate lymphatic drainage
  • aid the removal of toxins
  • help to boost the immune system
  • reduce stiffness and improve flexibility
  • improve sleep
  • provide a feeling of general wellbeing

A one-off treatment will always be beneficial, especially when particularly stressed.
However, the best way to reduce stress levels and maintain balance and wellbeing is to incorporate regular treatments into your lifestyle.

Aftercare:

  • Drink plenty of water over the next few days to assist in the elimination of toxins from the body
  • Reduce caffeine intake
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
  • Make time to relax

You may experience reactions when the body begins its self-healing as it eliminates toxins. These reactions are temporary and are positive signs that your body has responded and is balancing itself.  They may include:

  • Frequent visits to the toilet
  • Increased thirst
  • Fatigue and drowsiness
  • Feeling emotional
